[Review] - Cloverfield

JJ Abrams (Alias, Lost) new masterpiece "Cloverfield" to German Kleefeld. But the film has absolutely nothing to do with a colorful sea of flowers, quite the opposite. "Cloverfield" is a spectacular sci-fi monster-horror-thriller.

action

New York: Some friends organize for Rob Hawkins (Michael Stahl-David) a surprise party, because it wants the next day fly to Japan where will assume his new job. But the celebration is interrupted when suddenly the whole house starts to shake out in the street and is the head of the Statue of Liberty. Throughout the movie filmed Hudson "Hud" Platt (TJ Miller), a friend of Rob, the events via video camera.

criticism

all I will not put to action, mitigate this because the film would enjoy.

The exclusive hand-held camera work with the director Matt Reeves has managed a unique film. Opinions are divided but on whether they "look" about a 84 minute film is not too much, but most see it refreshingly positive. Some moviegoers report after the film of nausea and dizziness (feeling sick), as dangerous to health is "Cloverfield" but not yet classified.

But back to the actual film. created by filming with a handheld camera, the Feeling of being there. Rarely before has there been films in which one so close to the action was in "Cloverfield." Whether at the beginning of the party or later when the military through the streets of New York's runs. Always have been feeling that one is right there. Even in the moments where govern mourning and death, filmed on the camera. We see the characters cry and fear for their lives and also nearby.

The special effects are impressive, good for the relatively low budget of $ 25 million. Especially the scene when the head of the Statue of Liberty flying through the street, looks scary in real terms.

"Cloverfield" is therefore a "must watch" titles this year. Only single people should be warned, which is bad of blurred images. All others I can only recommend to watch this film.

My rating: 9 / 10
